How We Read Botanical Evidence
12 August 2025 · 8 min
A clear framework for evaluating traditional use, mechanistic research, and human clinical trials — without the noise.
Evidence in botanical wellness is rarely binary. A plant may have centuries of traditional use, a plausible biological mechanism, and a mixed clinical literature — all at once.
At Ayulogy, we separate these layers deliberately. Traditional knowledge informs where to look. Mechanistic research helps explain how an ingredient might act. Human studies tell us what has been observed under controlled conditions.
We also document what we do not yet know. Extract type, dose, duration, population, and study quality all shape interpretation. Transparency about limits is part of scientific integrity.
This journal exists to make that process visible — so formulations feel less like marketing claims and more like reasoned botanical craft.
