Standardization, Without the Jargon

28 July 2025 · 6 min

What “standardized extract” actually means — and why identity, markers, and batch consistency matter.

Standardization is often reduced to a percentage on a label. In practice, it is a quality discipline: confirming botanical identity, measuring marker compounds, and aiming for batch-to-batch consistency.

A withanolide percentage, a bacoside level, or a curcuminoid concentration is useful only when the underlying plant material is correctly identified and the analytical method is sound.

Ayulogy treats standardization as part of a longer chain — from source and identity through validation, formulation, and testing — not as a marketing badge.
